In the sheltered environment, carers gave her as much freedom as she could handle. She obsessively drew pictures, over and over, giving them as gifts to visitors, asking earnestly “Do you like birds?” The day she disappeared, they knew where to look. Antique store. Pricing stuffed curlews.
